welcome to the oteam occupational therapy for your little superhero

OTeam has a pre-school and primary school focus. We specialise in working with children 0-12 years. We differ from traditional therapy by working with a child in their natural environments, which offers families a flexible and accessible service as well as being able to forge links with key caregivers in the child’s life. The name ‘OTeam’ reflects the core philosophies of my practice:

Every child is unique and has strengths that can be built
upon to maximise their success.

When your child has additional needs it can be easy to get bogged down in everything that you feel (or are told) they “can’t” do, and at times we need reminders about the positives. I believe that every child has their own “Super Hero” within, even if we sometimes need to dig a bit deeper to find it.

Improving a child’s development relies
on a team-based approach.

1:1 therapy sessions certainly have a valuable place in your child’s development. They allow specialised, individual attention and support to develop skills and abilities. However, this alone will not maximise the benefits of therapy. It is the practice and support that a child receives in their everyday life that will consolidate what they learn in OT, and it is important that all the caregivers in a child’s life are on the same page and working consistently towards goals.

At present, my service is a mobile one, which means I have the privilege of seeing your child in their key environments (home, kindergarten, childcare, school). This allows me to build relationships with parents, teachers and support staff, and work collaboratively to develop strategies suitable to each environment, which helps set everyone up for success!
